We are a uniformed member of the largest youth organisation in the world – the Scout Association.
We are open to boys and girls. We take children from Wibsey and the surrounding area without regard for class, creed or ability. About 80 children met every week here.
The Scout Group is very active with meetings throughout the year including school holidays. The weekly meetings include games and craft work all directed by a training programme set nationally to develop young people’s confidence and abilities. The programme places great emphasis on outdoor activities and activities involving self reliance and confidence building. The traditional camping, cooking, knots and first aid are still to be found, but surrounded by as many new things as each age may produce.
It is run in Wibsey by a team of hard working adults and young people who get as much fun and reward out of it as the children. The team is always looking for additional resources to enable even better Scouting to be delivered. If you are interested in lending a hand, perhaps to do a sport such as climbing, canoeing, orienteering or can help in teaching drama, music, first aid or anything else please talk to us.
