Circuit Youth Worker
Welcome to the Youth page.
I'm Laura, the Circuit Youth Worker. I have been part of the staff team in Bradford South since March 2011. I am married to Matthew and have a baby son, William.
My role in Bradford South involves working with specific named churches, at present these are Aldersgate, specifically with the Girls Brigade, and Ebenezer, specifically connecting with the Scouting and Guiding groups and leading some of their Parade services. I also work with a group called "Together", which is made up of people from BCDD (Bradford Churches for Dialogue & Diversity), e:merge and St Margaret's Church at Thornbury, working together to provide opportunities for Muslim and Christian young people to come together through different activities to encourage relationship building. I am part of the leadership team for "Youthlinks" - a project which brings together young people from our Circuit and from Anglican churches in Sheffield and Blackpool to encourage relationship building and an opportunity for increased faith confidence through residentials and joint activities through the year.
We run a Circuit Youth Group for any young people aged 11-18 who live in the Circuit, held on a Friday evening during term time.
For the last two years we have run a programme of activities during the summer holidays which have included a visit to Tropical World in Leeds, a trip to Flamingo Land Theme Park (2012) and Lightwater Valley (2013), picnic in the park, film and pizza nights and bowling trips.
We also have a Circuit Facebook Profile which we use to connect and communicate with the young people we work with. This is monitored very closely under the Circuit Social Media Policy. This profile is only available to connect with young people aged 13-18 years old.
If you would like more information about any of our activities please contact me.
